Team Soul has been crowned Season 1 champions of the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS).

With a dominating show in the four-day Grand Finals, which witnessed high-tension competition and biting action, Team Soul clearly stamped their authority and won the title in style with 335 points, 85 more than the second-ranked OU Esports team who only managed to get 250 points in 24 games in the Grand Finals.

Along with the prestigious title, Team Soul also scooped the winning prize of Rs 75 lakhs, out of a prize pool of Rs 2 crore.

Led by Sahil Jhakar (Soul Omega), a strong team, including the other popular BGMI athletes in the country, including supporter Sohail Shaikh (Soul Hector), aggressors Akshat Goel (Soul Akshat) and Harsh Paudwal (Soul Goblin), presented brilliant gameplay, featuring spectacular skill and coordination. The team was coached by Amit Dubey (Soul Amit) and Aman Jain (Soul Aman).

“This moment gives me a sense of accomplishment and honor that our team’s diligence and commitment has finally paid off. BMPS is a highlight event in the BGMI storyline as it features all the titans of the Indian mobile battle royale community. This tournament was our dream. It was a difficult task and finally winning it is a momentous achievement for all of our team members. It was the whole team’s love and dedication to the sport and hard work that allowed us to reach first place in the Grand Finals. It’s special, given the level of competition we had to play to emerge as champions. Team Soul is here now, the feedback is strong and we can assure you this is just the beginning,” said Team Soul Captain Sahil Jhakar aka Soul Omega.

Team Soul, the champions of PUBG Mobile India Series 2019, scored 335 points (166 finish and 169 position points), including five chicken dinners. Veteran BGMI athletes Naman Mathur aka Mortal and Yash Soni aka Viper, who were substitute players, supported the team in their excellent run and played a crucial role in helping the team become champions.

“It was intense. Going up against seasoned esports players definitely made it more compulsive and our victory more interesting. The team was well in sync and we were determined to top the leaderboards. Winning the inaugural edition of the most India’s biggest esports event BMPS makes me proud of the team and I can’t wait for more success BGMI is our playground where we have invested a lot of time and energy with the sole aim of win. For his impressive 71 finishes in the Grand Finals, Harsh Paudwal aka Soul Goblin was awarded Most Valuable Player and Rampage Freak while Aggressor Akshat Goel aka Soul Akshat won the Lone Survivor award as Team Soul wrapped up their campaign with most finishes (166) during the four-day Grand Final.
