JoAnn Neau joins Northmarq as Marketing Director


MINNEAPOLIS (April 7, 2022) — Northmarq has hired JoAnn Neau, a marketing leader for 25 years, as the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer. Neau comes to Northmarq from Thrivent, where she led digital and marketing operations strategies.

“In this important leadership role, JoAnn will help us create and execute a marketing/communications vision, including content and digital strategy,” said Travis Krueger, COO of Northmarq. JoAnn will be located in Northmarq’s Minneapolis office.

Neau brings over 25 years of financial services experience leading marketing, communications, branding, digital marketing and customer experience for Fortune 500 financial services organizations. Thrivent, JoAnn has held several senior leadership positions at Wells Fargo/Abbot Downing, RBC Wealth Management, US Bancorp and Securian Financial. Within Wells Fargo’s Abbot Downing business, she led marketing strategies that generated sales revenue, improved customer experience and increased brand awareness for ultra-high net worth investors. At RBC Wealth Management, she was responsible for leading the marketing and communications strategy for the US wealth management business and leading the digital marketing and innovation strategies for the global investment business. .

Outside of her professional roles, JoAnn has a personal passion for education. She helped found a non-profit organization and was founding chair of the board of directors of the St. Croix Preparatory Academy Foundation, and previously served on the board of directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s Securities Industry Institute in the Wharton School. Additionally, she served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Project SUCCESS, a nonprofit organization focused on enriching the educational experiences of more than 15,000 Minneapolis students at 22 public schools, and a member of the Board of Trustees. of Meet Minneapolis, the nonprofit organization whose mission is to stimulate the city’s economic and social prosperity by attracting visitors, conventions and events.

Neau received his MBA and Bachelor of Commerce from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
