ICICI Securities (I-Sec) on Wednesday announced the launch of ICICIdirect iLearn, a learning application that provides clients with easy access to content organized around several financial products and trading topics.

“This will provide clients with the solid insights needed to better assist them in their investment journey,” I-Sec said in its statement.

There has been a massive increase in retail investor participation in the stock market over the past few months. According to BSE data, the total number of investors in June 2022 was around 109 million, a year-on-year increase of 51%. Of I-Sec’s global customer base, Millennials and Generation Z have formed more than 80% of its active customer base over the past three years. Additionally, 85% of customers acquired by I-Sec in Q4-FY22 were from Tier II and III cities, according to I-Sec data.

As individuals’ participation in the market increases, it is important that investors have access to the right information about investing in stocks to make informed decisions. “‘ICICIdirect iLearn’ aims to acquaint investors with knowledge about financial or investment tools by including both standard and contemporary content, catering to the needs of beginners and advanced investors,” said I-Sec.

Currently, the app has more than 550 content items in various sections related to financial markets and the content will be updated at regular intervals.

“For decades, ICICI direct has been imparting financial knowledge to Indian investors through various outreach programs in a physical format. As the world moves towards digitalization, we are pleased to launch “ICICIdirect iLearn” which aims to provide investors with well-researched and simplified content curated by our experts to help them make informed investment decisions. This content will be updated regularly, providing investors with a fresh perspective,” said Vishal Gulechha, Head – Retail Equities, ICICIdirect.

“We also plan to introduce ‘iCommunity’ to the platform soon, which will allow learning through other investors,” Gulechha added.

The app is available on Android and iOS systems and contains in-house content from ICICIdirect as well as reputable third-party content creators. Over the next few months, the content, multimedia in nature, would cover all aspects of investment, protection as well as loans.
